  • Condition: As is typical with many of the antique Chinese pieces, where applicable some of the hardware may have been replaced. There is general wear, and may be some shrinkage and age cracks that is typical for a piece this old, especially considering the climate difference. We feel these flaws add to the character of the piece and are preferable to replacement during restoration, Sometimes it is necessary to repair or replace certain components of the furniture, but that is typically done with antique wood. We try to be as clear as possible in the photos attached, however we are limited in the number of photos we can include, so it may not be possible to show every detail.     This custom designed Asian reproduction 6 Drawer chest was designed using some details that were copied from other antique Chinese pieces we have had in the past.
    Most notable is the unusual carved deer shaped feet, which is style found in many cabinets from the Gansu region of China.
    It is finished in a nice warm brown walnut stain with a thin coat of glazing applied.
    This beautiful piece is constructed using the same styles and methods that an original antique piece would have. It has all solid wood except for the back and drawer bottoms, which uses all real wood plywood. There is no particle board or hardboard used anywhere on this piece.
